Grambling State Quarterback Myles Crawley Headlines this week’s SWAC Honorees

Myles Crawley put on a dazzling show vs. Tuskegee earning SWAC Player of the Week Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Grambling State’s Myles Crawley, Alabama State’s Treqwan Thomas, Southern’s Joshua Griffin and Czavian Teasett along with Jackson State’s Cam’Ron McCoy for SWAC Football Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.
 
Offensive
Crawley had a career day during Grambling State’s 37-20 win over Tuskegee. He threw for a career-high 304 yards and four touchdowns on 16-of-26 passing. By halftime, he had helped GSU craft a 37-3 lead, throwing for 297 yards and four TDs before the break. 
 
Defensive
Thomas registered six tackles, including four solo stops this past weekend for Alabama State. He contributed three sacks while also forcing three fumbles during ASU’s 24-3 win over Miles. 
 
Specialist
Griffin connected for three field goals during Southern’s 42-10 win over Savannah State. He was successful on field attempts of 38, 44 and 49 yards along with three extra-point attempts during the contest.
 
Co-Newcomer
McCoy rushed for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just six carries and passed for another 100 yards (5-of-9) with two touchdowns during Jackson State’s win over Lane. He scored on runs of 20 and 60 yards, while also completing touchdown throws of one and 28 yards.
 
Co-Newcomer
Teasett entered the game midway the second quarter and never looked back throwing for a career-high 316 yards during Southern’s non-conference win over Savannah State. He also contributed three passing touchdowns while connecting with eight different receivers during the contest.
