The LSU Tigers are Natty Champs!

This March Madness has been full of first and historic moments. THE LSU Tigers won their first national title and broke the scoring record with 102 points.

The buzzer goes off and its Game Time, Freshman Flaujae committed a turnover but hit a sweet three on the other end. The Hawkeys and Tigers were going bucket for bucket in that first quarter. After 1 quarter LSU was leading 27-22. Caitlin Clark finished the first quarter with 14points, and Jasmine Carson had 5points for LSU.

The battle began in that second quarter, with several starting players sitting on the bench because of foul trouble. 6: 48 left in the second and you could say LSU wanted to take off, Jasmine Carson hit a 3-point jumper 36-32 LSU had the lead. The defense that was being played on Clark disrupting her rhythm was powerful, because Jasmine Carson said it’s my time to shine and was knocking down her shots. The sweetest one would be the buzzer beater to end the half and the Tigers leading 59-42.

LSU was shooting 75% from three, 58.3 % from the field. The Hawkeyes were only shotting 54.4 % from the three. The Tigers had 29 bench points. Jasmine Carson had 21pts, 5-5 from three, LaDazhia Williams had 10pts. Hawkeyes Caitlin Clark had 16pts,5ast and Gabby Marshall had 9pts.

It was the third quarter, and the excitement continues, The Hawkeyes kept playing their basketball and went on a 15-2 run hitting four threes and a and 1 to get within 8 65-57. With 1:03 left in the third Moinka Czinano picked up her fourth foul and Caitlin Clark picked up a technical foul and both got a substitution and headed to the bench.

Iowa was down 11 to start the fourth quarter. The tigers did not take their foot off the gas. Alexis Morris scored 15 points and with 1:13 left in the game Kateri Poole hit the dagger from three 98-82. LSU Tigers have won their first National Championship title defeating Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85. Congratulations to the Iowa Hawkeyes for an incredible season.

Caitlin Clark finished with 30 points and 8 assists, breaking the record of most points scored in the tournament, Gabby Marshall finished with 12 points and Kate Martin with 13 points and 6 assists.

Angel Resse finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in her 34th Double Double (most DD in a NCAA season).

Alexis Morris finished with 21 points and 5 assists.

LaDazhia Williams finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

Flaujae Johnson with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Jasmine Carson finished with 22 points.

Coach Kim Mulkey got her 4th Championship in her second year back home. Great team Win!
