The Dallas Wings defeated the Connecticut Sun 83-63 behind balanced scoring and a defensive performance that limited Connecticut to just 63 points.
Jessica Shepard and Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 15 points apiece. Shepard added nine rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Ogunbowale contributed five rebounds, five assists and one steal on an efficient 7-for-9 shooting performance.
Azzi Fudd provided another spark with 12 points, two steals and one block, knocking down four of her five three-point attempts. Odyssey Sims added nine points, while Paige Bueckers finished with six points and four assists.
Awak Kuier and Li Yueru each contributed six points off the bench as Dallas received production throughout its rotation.
Connecticut was led by Diamond Miller, who scored 22 points and made four three-pointers. Kennedy Burke added 14 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals, while Olivia Nelson-Ododa recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.
The Sun struggled to find additional scoring beyond Miller and Burke. Leila Lacan finished with seven points, while several Connecticut players were held to minimal production.
Dallas used its depth and defensive pressure to take control. Shepard provided production inside, Ogunbowale delivered efficient scoring and playmaking, and Fudd’s perimeter shooting helped create separation.
The Wings ultimately pulled away for a convincing 20-point victory.
