New-Look Giants Take Down Cowboys, 28-20

The Giants looked comfortable from the start in their new offense under John Harbaugh, and Jaxson Dart made sure Dallas spent most of the night playing catch-up in a 28-20 win. Dart completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, spreading the ball around while also adding 54 yards on the ground. Isaiah Likely was his most reliable target, catching all eight of his looks for 78 yards and two touchdowns, while Malik Nabers added six catches for 69 yards. Cam Skattebo gave New York balance with 81 rushing yards and a score, and the Giants answered every time the favored Cowboys tried to close the gap.

Dallas had some bright spots defensively, especially Caleb Downs, who finished with eight tackles and a sack, but the Cowboys could not get New York off the field consistently. The Giants converted 9 of 11 third downs, held the ball for 36:40 and outgained Dallas 394-244. Arvell Reese also had a strong night for New York with five solo tackles, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit, while Jevon Holland came away with an interception. Dak Prescott threw for 175 yards with two touchdowns and a pick, and neither CeeDee Lamb nor George Pickens was able to take over the game. New York did not need anything dramatic — it simply played cleaner, stayed on schedule and controlled the night from start to finish.
