Errol Spence Jr. faces Yordenis Ugas to unify Welterweight Titles. Vincente Luque and Belal Muhammad face off for the second time. Both of these cards take place Saturday April 16th. For the hardcore fight fans, the ones who live, breath and sleep fights, the card that has the best line up is Bellator 277.

nn

It features undefeated rising star, Bellator’s Featherweight Champion AJ “Mercenary” McKee. He will look to have his first successful title defense versus the man he took the title from. That man is the most decorated fighter in Bellator history. He’s been the Featherweight King multiple times, has more victories than anyone in the promotions history and also held the Lightweight title until relinquishing it recently. His name is Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.

nn

McKee has looked unstoppable, including in his last bout where he not only won the Featherweight title in Round 1 but also won the Grand Prix and a cool million dollars. McKee said in a press conference Monday that he looks to end the “Pitbull Legacy.” He plans on beating Patricio again then moving on to take the Lightweight belt from his brother Patricky. Patricio reminded the AJ that he knocked out Michael Chandler, the last person who said he would beat both brothers in the first round.

This card does not live and die with it’s headlining bout as the Co-Main Event pits Light Heavyweight Champion Vadim Nemkov against Corey “Overtime” Anderson. This is the finale of the Light Heavy Weight Grand Prix and the winner will leave with not only two titles but a million dollar prize as well.

nn

Since joining the Bellator roster, Overtime is undefeated. The Ultimate Fighter 19 Champion said his demeanor changed after losing his last UFC bout. He is treating this like a business, no more games and taking people lightly. Nemkov is not only the Bellator King but a 3 Time Russian Combat Sambo Champion. Also undefeated under the Bellator Banner, Vadim is a proud representative of Team Fedor headed by MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko.

nn

President Scott Coker boast that he has the best roster of Light Heavyweights in the world and the winner of this bout will hold the distinction of being the best in the division across all promotions. Seeing that Anderson has defeated both Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowich, the UFC’s most recent champions, Coker has a point. If Vadim were to win it would make the second TUF winner that he has defeated as he earned his title versus Ryan Bader. This allowed him to avenge Fedor by viciously knocking out the current Heavyweight Champion.

All of the Main Card action will take place on Showtime starting at 9 pm ET. You can catch the Prelim action on Bellator and or Showtime Sports Youtube Channels. If you have the Pluto TV app for your smart device, the Prelims will also be broadcast on the Bellator Channel there.

Until next time, fight the good fight!
