In a season that continues to captivate NFL fans, Buffalo’s Josh Allen and Minnesota’s Joshua Dobbs are not just playing; they’re sprinting into the record books with their dynamic rushing performances.

Buffalo’s star quarterback, Josh Allen, is not just leading the charge in passing touchdowns but is also making waves with his prowess on the ground. As Week 11 approaches, Allen is tied for the lead among quarterbacks with an impressive seven rushing touchdowns this season. However, he’s not alone in the spotlight, as Minnesota’s Joshua Dobbs is hot on his heels, ranking tied for third with five rushing touchdowns.

What sets Allen apart is his consistency. Allen and Dobbs have recently achieved a remarkable feat, scoring a rushing touchdown in four consecutive games leading up to Week 11. If either player finds the end zone on the ground again this week, they will join an elite group of quarterbacks in the Super Bowl era.

The exclusive club they are on the brink of entering includes the likes of Justin Fields, Kyler Murray, and Cam Newton, who have all recorded rushing touchdowns in five or more consecutive games. Fields accomplished this feat in 2022, while Murray did so in 2020 and Newton in 2021.

However, Allen has the opportunity to carve his name in history alongside Fields and Murray in another category. If he records both a passing and rushing touchdown this week, it will mark his fifth consecutive game achieving this dual-threat status. Allen has already matched the feat in four straight games, placing him in illustrious company.

Justin Fields and Kyler Murray are the only quarterbacks in NFL history to achieve both a passing and rushing touchdown in five or more consecutive games. Allen’s chance to join this elite group showcases his versatility and impact on the game.

nn

Zooming out to the entire season, Allen stands out with seven games in which he has notched both a passing and rushing touchdown, the most in the league. Another such performance will see him become only the fifth quarterback in NFL history to achieve this in eight or more games within a single season.

nn

Since entering the league in 2018, Allen’s career has amassed an impressive total of 202 touchdowns (157 passing, 45 rushing). Looking ahead to the upcoming matchup against the New York Jets, if Allen manages to tally three combined passing and rushing touchdowns, he will surpass Patrick Mahomes for the most combined passing and rushing touchdowns by a player in their first six seasons in NFL history.

nn

Currently, Mahomes holds the record with 204 combined touchdowns, but Allen’s incredible pace puts him in a position to rewrite history. As he aims to etch his name alongside legendary figures like Dan Marino, who recorded 199 combined touchdowns in his first six seasons, Josh Allen’s impact on the game continues to reach unprecedented heights.
