The Bye Week Blues:

n

This week’s musical chairs won’t feature the 49ers, Broncos, Jaguars, or Lions. They’re taking a breather.

nn

Jonathan Taylor: Welcome Back!

n

Guess who’s back, back again? Jonathan Taylor! He’s back, tell a friend. Taylor delivered a season-high 95 rushing yards in the last game but oddly had just one carry for one yard in the second half. A head-scratcher? Coach Shane Steichen attributed it to game flow. So, for now, let’s put Taylor at the top of our list with the fantastic matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 9.

nn

Travis Etienne: Fantasy Stud

n

Travis Etienne had a massive game against the Steelers, becoming the first Jaguars player to rack up 70+ rushing yards and 70+ receiving yards in a game since the legendary Maurice Jones-Drew in 2011. And now he gets a well-deserved bye week. This guy is on fire with at least 22 fantasy points in four consecutive games.

n

n

Double Trouble: Alvin Kamara & Travis Etienne

n

Imagine having both Travis Etienne and Alvin Kamara as your starting running backs. Pretty sweet, right? Kamara was unstoppable with a pair of touchdowns against the Colts, and he’s set for another showdown against the Bears this week.

nn

A.J. Brown: Mr. Consistency

n

A.J. Brown is a fantasy marvel. Remember back in 2021 when we predicted he’d be the new WR1? He’s living up to that prophecy, scoring 33 fantasy points on Sunday and reaching 125+ receiving yards in an NFL-record six consecutive games. The man is on fire.

nn

Travis Kelce: Kelce Bounces Back

n

Despite the Chiefs’ loss, Travis Kelce delivered a solid performance, chalking up 11.8 fantasy points. Not bad for a tight end, but we’re always hungry for more from Kelce. We bet that he’ll reignite the fire against the Dolphins.

nn

Austin Ekeler: Bounce-Back Mode

n

Austin Ekeler had a strong comeback against Chicago, proving once again that the Bears are the go-to team for opponents looking to get back on track. The highlight? Ekeler’s eight targets resulted in seven receptions for 94 yards.

nn

CeeDee Lamb: The Unstoppable Force

n

CeeDee Lamb put on a show against the Rams. While 40+ fantasy points every week might be a bit much to ask for, the way Dallas used him all over the field was brilliant. Next up, the Eagles, who have allowed plenty of production to receivers.

nn

Gus Edwards: Ravens’ Rising Star

n

As we noted last week, Gus Edwards is the man in the Ravens’ offense. He’s scored four rushing touchdowns in the past two games, with three coming in the latest showdown. The man’s on a roll.

nn

Rashid Shaheed: A Volatile Option

n

Rashid Shaheed scored 24.3 points against the Colts, but with just three targets in the game, he’s looking like a fantasy receiver with a hint of unpredictability.

nn

DeAndre Hopkins: The Big Game Hunter

n

DeAndre Hopkins had a field day with Will Levis being a superstar in his first career start. It gave off some Justin Herbert vibes. Hopkins tallied three touchdown receptions, which was spectacular. But with just four receptions from six targets, will there be enough volume against the Steelers on Thursday night?

nn

Jordan Addison: A Shifting Outlook

n

Jordan Addison made an impact with seven receptions on eight targets for 82 yards and a touchdown against the Packers. He was becoming a must-start every week. But let’s be cautious after Kirk Cousins’ season-ending injury. Addison takes a little step down this week.

nn

Jahmyr Gibbs: Rising Star

n

Jahmyr Gibbs is a rising star, and patience pays off. Keep an eye on him when he returns in Week 10 after the Lions’ bye week.

nn

Tee Higgins: Versatile Weapon

n

Tee Higgins had a solid game with five receptions for 69 yards against the 49ers’ defense. He’s one to watch this week against the Bills.

n

n

n

Rams’ Running Backs: Sharing the Glory

n

Darrell Henderson and Royce Freeman had decent outings last week, and they’re both in play against the Packers this week. Maybe Freeman will take the stage over Dameon Pierce. Or maybe not. Check out the rankings.

nn

Dameon Pierce: A Tough Call

n

Dameon Pierce had an underwhelming performance despite a favorable matchup against the Panthers. He’s hard to start with 4.6 fantasy points and a reversed touchdown, but it might be unavoidable with Javonte Williams on a bye.

nn

Jahan Dotson: The Comeback Kid

n

Jahan Dotson had an impressive game with ten targets, eight receptions, 108 yards, and a touchdown against the Eagles. That’s enough to consider him from the waiver wire.

nn

Trey McBride: The Hype Train Hero

n

Trey McBride was the Hype Train hero last week, setting career highs against the Ravens. But remember, it’s Joshua Dobbs who loves his tight ends. Things could change with Clayton Tune or Kyler Murray at the helm. Nonetheless, there’s not a plethora of great tight ends out there, so he might still be worth it.

nn

This week’s fantasy football picks promise to keep things interesting. Buckle up for Week 9, and let the games begin!
