For the second time in this short season the Grambling State Basketball team has beat a Power 5 program. Led by 6’9 Forward Carte’Are Gordon and 6’3 Guard Shawndarius Cowart , Grambling defeated Vandy 64-62. The SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) has been enjoying a string of victories over some of the top teams in the country. Earlier this season they beat Coach Deion Sanders new employer, Colorado, by nearly double digits. They also beat UTSA this season. The Tigers will have their hands full next Saturday as they taken on ACC power Virginia Tech. The Tigers may have had a bit of scare late in the 4th Quarter as Cowart appeared to hurt himself after a physical play. Fans should keep an eye on his health heading into next week’s matchup.
