In a thrilling clash of college football titans, the #5 LSU Tigers found themselves on the wrong side of a high-scoring battle against the #8 Florida State Seminoles. The final scoreline of 45-35 in favor of the Seminoles left LSU and their fans bewildered and searching for answers.

Florida State’s Jordan Travis and Keon Coleman were the dynamic duo that spelled trouble for the Tigers from the very beginning. Travis, who had tormented LSU in their previous encounter, continued his dominance, throwing for 342 yards and four touchdowns. It seemed like he had an extra gear when facing the Tigers, leaving LSU’s defense struggling to contain him.

Louisiana native Keon Coleman showcased his talent on the national stage, making nine catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns. It was a statement performance from the wide receiver, leaving LSU to wonder what could have been had they managed to keep him in their home state.

The game exposed a surprising weakness in LSU’s typically tough and gritty identity. Fans and analysts alike criticized the Tigers for appearing “soft” at times during the game. Even though the rushing stats were relatively close, with Florida State gaining 135 yards compared to LSU’s 113, LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly admitted that his team had lost their edge. He quipped, “For some reason, we thought we were somebody else, we thought we were the 2x national champion Georgia Bulldogs or something. I don’t know what we thought but we were mistaken.”

LSU will face the Grambling State Tigers next week. Both LSU and Grambling State now face the challenge of bouncing back after suffering early-season losses. Grambling loss Saturday to Hampton in the Brick City Classic. Expectations were high for both teams, and this early setback will undoubtedly fuel their determination to improve.
