Brock Purdy barely missed all afternoon, and by the time Miami found the end zone, San Francisco had already put the game away. Purdy completed 20 of 22 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score in the 49ers’ 35-13 win. Christian McCaffrey managed only 23 rushing yards, but he still punched in two short touchdowns and added 43 yards through the air. George Kittle led the receiving group with 80 yards and a touchdown, while Mike Evans added 54 yards on three catches. San Francisco led 14-6 at halftime before dropping 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to turn a competitive game into a runaway.
Miami never found enough consistency to keep up. Malik Willis finished with 197 passing yards and a touchdown, but 77 of those yards came on a late scoring strike to Ryan Miller with the game already out of reach. De’Von Achane rushed for 74 yards, yet the Dolphins failed to score an offensive touchdown until the final minutes. San Francisco averaged 7.8 yards per play, converted 5 of 7 third downs and never allowed Purdy to be sacked. The 49ers’ defense got to Willis four times, with Marques Sigle, Keion White and Romello Height all contributing sacks. Purdy’s efficiency gave Miami almost no margin for error, and the Dolphins never found an answer.
