The New York Liberty defeated the Las Vegas Aces 93-85 on Tuesday behind strong performances from Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart.
Ionescu led New York with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists, knocking down five three-pointers. Stewart added 25 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks, giving the Liberty a major two-way lift.
Pauline Astier also gave New York a strong effort with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Jonquel Jones finished with nine points, nine rebounds and two blocks.
Las Vegas was led by Jackie Young, who scored 31 points with seven assists and two steals. Chennedy Carter added 18 points off the bench, while NaLyssa Smith had nine points and six rebounds.
The Liberty used balanced scoring and strong rebounding from Stewart and Jones to hold off the Aces. New York made enough plays late to secure the 93-85 win.
