Jaxon Smith-Njigba delivered Seattle’s biggest play when it mattered most, helping the Seahawks erase a 10-point deficit and rally past the New England Patriots, 13-10.

New England led 10-0 in the third quarter before a Jason Myers field goal put Seattle on the board. The comeback accelerated with 11:28 remaining when Drew Lock connected with Smith-Njigba for a 45-yard touchdown to tie the game. Myers then drilled a 26-yard field goal with 5:50 left to give Seattle its first lead, and the defense made it stand. Lock finished 16-of-22 for 187 yards and a touchdown, while Smith-Njigba dominated with eight catches for 122 yards and the tying score. Jadarian Price added 52 rushing yards on 10 carries.
Seattle’s defense proved just as important, intercepting Drake Maye three times while the Seahawks played turnover-free football. Julian Love, Josh Jobe and Nehemiah Pritchett each recorded an interception, helping offset New England’s advantages in first downs (19-13) and time of possession. Seattle also generated 5.9 yards per play compared with New England’s 4.1. Maye completed 23 of 33 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown but his three interceptions proved costly, this was exacerbated by the lose of his top offseason acquisition in WR A.J. Brown. Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 51 yards and Mack Hollins led the Patriots with 51 receiving yards after Brown’s injury. Seattle’s combination of explosive offense and timely takeaways ultimately turned a 10-0 hole into a comeback victory, even after losing Quarterback Sam Darnold early in the game.
