The Washington Mystics edged the Las Vegas Aces 100-99 behind a balanced offensive effort and a strong performance from Shakira Austin.
Austin led Washington with 25 points, six rebounds and three assists, shooting 10-for-18 from the field. Sonia Citron added 20 points, eight assists and four rebounds, while Lauren Betts contributed 13 points off the bench.
Kiki Iriafen recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Michaela Onyenwere and Georgia Amoore each scored 10 points. Cotie McMahon added seven points, six rebounds and three assists.
Las Vegas was led by A’ja Wilson, who delivered 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks. Jackie Young added 24 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Chelsea Gray finished with 19 points and four assists.
Despite Wilson’s dominant performance, Washington received enough production throughout its rotation to stay within reach. Austin and Citron led the Mystics’ offense as Washington made the final plays needed to secure the one-point win.
