Texas Fury and Jaguars Elite Claim NFL FLAG National Titles in Canton

CANTON, Ohio — July 20, 2025 — On the biggest stage in youth flag football, two teams rose above the rest. The Texas Fury Texans and Jaguars Elite walked away with national titles Sunday at the NFL FLAG Championships in Canton, Ohio, dominating their divisions with statement wins and elite performances.

Texas Fury Texans Lock Down the High School Girls Championship

Coming into the weekend with a 41-3 record, Texas Fury Texans head coach Keenan Hughs wasn’t questioning his team’s talent—he was questioning their fire.

“They were just so quiet,” Hughs said. “At practice. On the sidelines. I wasn’t sure if they had the heart to go all the way.”

That question got answered—loud and clear—in the form of a 19-0 shutout against the Bad Rabbits Cowboys in the High School Girls national title game.

Quarterback Emery Beckett was flawless, completing 8-of-8 passes for 102 yards and three touchdowns to earn MVP honors. She found Zahara Hill for the game’s opening score just 2:20 into the contest, then connected with Kelsey Quinn for the conversion.

Moments later, Kaitlyn Reynolds snagged an interception to set up another Beckett-to-Quinn touchdown, making it 13-0 at the half.

The defense was lights-out. Even after Bad Rabbits receiver Jessica Manriquez broke off a 17-yard gain deep into Texans territory, the Fury D locked up and denied three straight pass attempts in the red zone.

“The girls have heart. That takes heart,” Beckett said after the game.

The second half saw another defensive gem, as Sonya Chalil added a second pick. Beckett capitalized again, hitting Hill for her second touchdown to seal the deal.

“My receivers make me look good. I love them with my whole heart,” Beckett said. With this win, the Texans redeemed last season’s semifinal exit and cemented their place at the top.

Now building the women’s flag football program at Concordia University in Austin, Hughs emphasized the broader impact: “Every single athlete that’s come through the Texans program has gone on to play at the collegiate level. That’s what this is about.”

High School Girls Semifinal Results:

  • Texas Fury (Texans) 7, Conquer (Chargers) 6
Beckett and Ava Wallace combined for 127 passing yards. A 27-yard touchdown and decisive conversion from Beckett to Quinn gave the Texans the edge.
Conquer answered with a short TD pass from Madi Lam to Sophie Guitron, but the failed extra point left them trailing as time ran out.
  • Bad Rabbits (Cowboys) 7, AA Select Eagles 0
Giovanna Ortiz found Camila Gomez for an 8-yard TD with 1:27 left. Ortiz completed 11-of-16 passes for 117 yards.
Keira Quinn threw for 128 yards for the Eagles, with Rowan Cunningham pulling in 49 yards on seven catches.

Jaguars Elite Dominate 14U Boys Division

Meanwhile, in the 14U Boys division, Jaguars Elite proved they’re built for the spotlight. Behind MVP Brysen Wright, they shut out Team Showtime (Falcons) 13-0 to bring the title back to Jacksonville.

The Jaguars jumped ahead early with a 30-yard over-the-shoulder TD grab by Jaiden Barnett from QB Dalton Motes. Motes went 8-of-12 for 108 yards and two touchdowns on the day.

Their second score came on a creative double-lateral play, finished by Ry’land Williams for a 15-yard touchdown.

On defense, Wright showed why he’s been the talk of the tournament. After already going viral earlier in the weekend with a one-handed TD catch that caught the attention of Patrick Mahomes, Chad Johnson, and Bijan Robinson, he closed the title game with a one-handed pass breakup to force a turnover on downs.

Wright’s final weekend stat line? 10 touchdowns in seven games.

“It’s just a blessing to win with my guys and bring it back to the city,” Wright said. “And to be noticed by NFL players at this age? Man, that’s a blessing too.”

Head coach David “Bobo” Price, a USA Football gold medalist and longtime flag football advocate, was quick to praise Wright and the game’s evolution.

“This sport is fast, explosive, and growing fast. Players like Brysen are helping take it to the next level.”

14U Boys Semifinal Results:

  • Jaguars Elite 41, RFP (Bills) 12
Motes went off for 217 yards and six touchdowns. Wright caught seven passes for 163 yards, including a 45-yard bomb and a 21-yard TD to end it.
For the Bills, Brady Von Schiller threw two TDs to Alex Rivera, who caught five balls for 54 yards.
  • Showtime (Falcons) 13, High Intensity (49ers) 7
Januel Morales threw two TDs, including a 25-yarder to Tyler Bryant, and Showtime’s defense held strong until the final 90 seconds.
Brody Bukich tossed a late TD to Vohnn Brown, who led High Intensity with 47 yards receiving.

Champions Crowned, Futures Ignited

From Beckett’s surgical efficiency to Wright’s viral brilliance, the NFL FLAG Championships delivered everything you could want — talent, heart, and moments that feel much bigger than a game.

With the continued rise of youth and women’s flag football, don’t be surprised if the names you saw this weekend in Canton are the same names you’ll be hearing in college — or even the pros — in the years to come.
