Denver looked cooked at halftime. The Broncos trailed 16-0 and had barely gotten anything going offensively before Bo Nix and the defense completely flipped the game after the break. Nix threw third-quarter touchdowns to Pat Bryant and Nate Adkins, with Denver converting two-point tries after both to tie it at 16. Then Talanoa Hufanga changed everything, jumping Matthew Stafford and taking an interception 66 yards to the house for Denver’s first lead. Stafford answered right back with a 48-yard touchdown to Konata Mumpfield, but Nix had one more drive in him, marching Denver down the field before sneaking in from a yard out with 47 seconds left for the 30-26 lead.

The crazy part is Los Angeles had 482 total yards compared to Denver’s 257 and still found a way to lose. Stafford threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns, Davante Adams had 137 receiving yards, and Kyren Williams finished with 158 yards from scrimmage. But Stafford’s two interceptions, four sacks and 13 Rams penalties kept giving Denver life. Hufanga finished with two picks, a sack and a pick-six. With two seconds left, Stafford threw a sloppy double cheeseburger with extra pickles, grilled onions and only mustard, tossing one right into Hufanga’s hands to officially end the night.
