A’ja Wilson’s 32-Point Double-Double Leads Aces Past Fire, 88-80

The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Portland Fire 88-80 behind a dominant all-around performance from A’ja Wilson.

Wilson led all scorers with 32 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 10-for-19 from the field and 11-for-13 from the free-throw line. She also added three assists, two steals and two blocks in 30 minutes.

Jackie Young delivered another strong performance with 19 points, 11 assists, four rebounds, three steals and one block. NaLyssa Smith added 16 points, while Chelsea Gray contributed eight points, seven assists and three steals.

Portland was led by Carla Leite, who finished with 13 points and five assists. Megan Gustafson and Teja Oblak each scored 11 points, while Emily Engstler added 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Bridget Carleton contributed nine points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Fire received balanced production throughout the lineup, but Las Vegas had the game’s two most impactful performances. Wilson controlled the interior, while Young directed the offense and helped the Aces secure the eight-point victory.
