Kelsey Mitchell Scores 29 as Fever Edge Mercury, 92-89

The Indiana Fever held off the Phoenix Mercury for a 92-89 victory behind a big performance from Kelsey Mitchell and strong support from Aliyah Boston and Tyasha Harris.

Mitchell led Indiana with 29 points, eight assists and three steals, shooting 10-for-22 from the field and making all six of her free throws. Boston added 21 points and nine rebounds, while connecting on three of her five attempts from beyond the arc.

Harris gave the Fever 15 points, five assists, two steals and one block on an efficient 6-for-8 shooting performance. Lexie Hull added 10 points, and Sophie Cunningham finished with nine points.

Phoenix was led by Kahleah Copper and Alyssa Thomas, who each scored 22 points. Thomas also recorded seven assists, six rebounds, one steal and one block, while Copper added five rebounds. Monique Akoa Makani contributed 14 points and three assists, and Valeriane Ayayi and Marta Suarez each scored 10 points.

Indiana’s balanced scoring helped the Fever withstand Phoenix’s late pressure. Mitchell’s shot-making and playmaking, combined with Boston’s interior production, proved decisive in the three-point win.
