A year after Jacksonville walked into Denver and handed the Broncos a 34-20 loss, Denver finally returned the favor — and had to fight for it. The Broncos trailed 13-3 in the third quarter before Bo Nix and the offense finally woke up, closing the game with 17 unanswered points in a 20-13 comeback win. Nix finished 22 of 31 for 288 yards, one touchdown and one interception, with Jaylen Waddle repeatedly stretching Jacksonville’s defense for eight catches and 138 yards. Riley Moss’ interception of Trevor Lawrence helped swing the game, setting up Nix’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Nate Adkins that tied it. Then rookie Jonah Coleman delivered his first NFL touchdown, a 3-yard run that put Denver ahead for good with 7:21 left.
Jacksonville controlled most of the afternoon but couldn’t close the door. Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, while Parker Washington caught seven passes for 98 yards, but Lawrence finished with only 189 passing yards, no touchdowns and the costly interception. Denver’s defense shut Jacksonville out in the fourth quarter, sacked Lawrence twice and held the Jaguars to 268 total yards. The win also snapped Jacksonville’s nine-game regular-season winning streak. After getting punched by Kansas City in Week 1 and spending much of Sunday behind again, the Broncos finally punched back — with a little payback attached.
