This game, marking the first-ever WNBA contest held at the storied venue, not only showcased top-tier basketball but also highlighted the growing popularity of the women’s game. The night was filled with energy from the start, as a sold-out crowd of 19,156 fans filled the TD Garden. This turnout represented the Sun’s sixth sell-out of the season and the highest attendance for a Connecticut Sun game in the franchise’s history. It also ranked as the third-highest attendance for a WNBA game this season, demonstrating the league’s expanding fanbase and the team’s dedicated supporters.
Before the game, Sun coach Stephanie White expressed her excitement and the emotional impact of the occasion. “I got chills walking onto the court, because I’m a basketball fan first and foremost!
