The New York Liberty overwhelmed the Las Vegas Aces 111-71 behind a scorching performance from Marine Johannes and balanced production throughout the rotation.
Johannes led all scorers with 27 points in just 22 minutes, shooting 9-for-14 from the field and knocking down seven three-pointers. She also added three assists and a steal.
Jonquel Jones finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Breanna Stewart recorded 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Han Xu provided 14 points and five rebounds off the bench, and Rebecca Allen added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Rebekah Gardner contributed 11 points and seven rebounds, while Marine Fauthoux directed the offense with nine assists.
Las Vegas was led by Ta’Niya Latson, who scored 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Mai Yamamoto added 16 points and six assists, including four three-pointers, while Justine Pissott finished with 11 points.
NaLyssa Smith contributed seven points, six rebounds and four assists, but the Aces struggled to keep pace with New York’s depth.
Johannes’ perimeter shooting set the tone as the Liberty received scoring throughout the lineup and pulled away for a commanding 40-point victory.
