Kayla McBride Leads Lynx Past Sparks, 96-87

The Minnesota Lynx earned a 96-87 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks behind a balanced offensive attack led by Kayla McBride.

McBride paced Minnesota with 24 points, shooting 8-for-16 from the field and converting six of her seven free throws. Courtney Williams added 19 points and four assists, while Olivia Miles contributed 18 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Natasha Howard delivered a strong all-around performance with 10 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block. Anastasiia Olairi Kosu added nine points off the bench, while Nia Coffey scored eight points with five rebounds and two blocks.

Los Angeles was led by Rae Burrell, who finished with 24 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block. Nneka Ogwumike recorded 23 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, while Dearica Hamby and Erica Wheeler each scored 10 points. Wheeler also dished out six assists, and Cameron Brink contributed 10 points in 15 minutes.

The Sparks received strong performances from Burrell and Ogwumike, but Minnesota’s backcourt production and Howard’s all-around impact helped the Lynx secure the nine-point win.
